What is GreenPlan?

Global warming is now considered a reality. The transport sector - and cars in particular - are one of the main causes of CO₂ emissions and of the resultant increase in the temperature of the planet.

To combat global warming and reduce emissions, an agreement has been signed by the major industrialised nations: the Kyoto Protocol. With a view to respecting the terms of this agreement, the EU has set the CO₂ emission threshold, to be reached by 2012, at 130g CO₂/km.

For this reason, LeasePlan Corporation – a world leader in long-term leasing and in corporate fleet management, which has always been committed to supporting environmental issues and to taking a socially responsible approach – has rolled out GreenPlan, a global initiative as timely as it is necessary, throughout the 30 countries in which it operates.

Through the GreenPlan consultancy-based project, LeasePlan Italy is offering its clients the opportunity to identify the possible actions they could take to boost the eco-compatibility of their fleets, balancing the need to contain costs with the need to provide driver satisfaction.
